As a new employee joining the Riva family, my education on the company’s impressive history began. What started as a one-man basement operation has now grown into a 37,000 square foot space with over 140 experienced employees. Over three decades, Riva has become the largest full-service manufacturing firm in New York City, and that got me wanting to know more about our founder and CEO, Ted Doudak. I recently had the opportunity to ask Ted five questions to help get to know the man behind the brand.
1. What inspires you?
Fresh ideas that improve people’s lives, people around me and far.
2. What would be your theme song and why?
Lauren Daigle; You Say. My worth and my value system are in His love for me and not in what I have.
3. Fill in the blank: I could not live without ______________
Purpose in Life
4. What is one of your favorite industry memories?
Oh; I have many. My first job in jewelry (July of 1985) was to operate a chain beveling machine. Within two months, I developed a way for the machine to work without my attendance. So I started to clean up other departments and learn what they do.
5. What has been the key to your longevity in manufacturing?
Keeping what is enough for my family and investing in the business; people, process and machines.
