The Permanent Bangle
Our journey began with a simple question: How can we offer a permanent bangle without the complications of traditional welding?
After a year of dedicated research and development, RIVA is thrilled to introduce the latest addition to our permanent jewelry collection – the Permanent Bangle. Our patented design (Patent No. US 12004608) replaces welding with a unique riveting system, ensuring a seamless, durable, and beautiful permanent piece. Available in 14K yellow gold, sterling silver, and gold-filled!
Permanent Bangle Kit
We have created a comprehensive package to support you in crafting your very own permanent bangle. Our Starter Pack includes all the tools necessary to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind piece. This includes the riveting pliers, which enable you to securely rivet the bangle onto the customer, and all the essential components for the bangle: the bangle wire, the tube, and the rivets.
To ensure the best results, it's important to note that the riveting system requires some training. We provide detailed instructions and resources to help you master the process, so you can create flawless bangles with confidence.
Life happens, and a customer might request to have their bangle removed. No problem! We've included a rivet removal plier that allows you to remove the pins without damaging the bangle. Once the bangle is removed, it can be easily reattached by simply adding a new set of pins.
The Riveting Process
The permanent bangle was designed to be riveted onto a customers wrist using the riveting pliers. We make our own pliers in house in order to offer you the best quality. Please note that the pliers are adjusted for specific wire sizes: use the 2mm pliers for 2mm bangles and the 1.25mm pliers for 1.25mm bangles. We have created a quick guide to explain the riveting process. If you have any questions we are here to help!
Measure the customer's Wrist:
Measure the customer's wrist at the wrist bone to determine the best fit. Our bangles are available in sizes XS to XL. For a snug fit, choose the exact measurement. For a looser fit, select the next size up.
Open the Bangle:
Hold the bangle wire on each side and gently open it sideways enough to fit over the customer's wrist. Gently fit it over the customer's wrist; you will need the tube bar for the next step.
Attach the Tube:
Take the tube bar and slide it over the wire bangle. Ensure that the two holes on the tube bar align with the corresponding holes on each end of the bangle wire. Adjust both the tube bar and the bangle wire until the holes are perfectly aligned.
Insert the Rivet:
Using a pair of pliers, insert the rivet into the aligned holes of the bangle and tube. Make sure to insert the rivet with the red mark facing first. If aligned correctly, the rivet should slide through easily. Once the rivet is in place, you are ready to rivet the Permanent Bangle.
Rivet the Bangle:
Align the riveting pliers with the rivet, ensuring the small grooves of the pliers securely hold both ends of the pin. For better accuracy, we recommend using a magnifier.
Hold the pliers at a 90-degree angle to the bangle and apply pressure to start riveting. The pliers have a stopper, so don't worry about applying too much pressure; it will prevent the bangle from being squashed.
Release the pliers and repeat the process with the second rivet. After riveting, inspect the bangle to ensure the rivets are secure.
Gold-Filled Wire
Gold-filled wire is a versatile jewelry-making material created by bonding a thick layer of gold to a brass or other metal alloy core. Unlike plated gold, which features a thin electroplated layer, gold-filled wire includes a much thicker gold layer, typically making up at least 5% of the wire's total weight. This results in a durable and long-lasting material that retains the luster and beauty of real gold at a more affordable price.
Compared to vermeil, which is sterling silver coated with a thick gold layer, gold-filled wire offers greater durability and resistance to tarnishing. While real gold jewelry is made entirely of gold, gold-filled wire provides an economical option without compromising on quality or aesthetics. Additionally, our permanent bangles feature an extra layer of gold plating to further enhance their durability.
